We’d love to hear from anyone at HTB with a passion for working with ex-offenders, who’d like to join the team in reintegrating ex-offenders into society through the local church.
The team is made up of a variety of roles;
Mentor: This person is the main contact for the ex-offender and is available to meet with them regularly. The mentor works alongside the ex-offender to set and achieve realistic goals.
Befriender: This person supports the mentor and meets up with the ex-offender, purely as social support. For example, meeting them before church, having a coffee, going to the cinema or attending social events linked to the church with them.
Prayer team: The prayer team would ideally meet regularly to pray for the work of CFEO at HTB and for the team and ex-offenders that are being supported within the community.
Practical helper: Depending on the individual’s specific requirements, this may include helping them to fill in housing forms or find jobseekers information, or supporting them as they look for and access education/training. We would love to draw upon the expertise of our congregation, for example professional counsellors, budgeting advisers, benefits or housing officers, former police or probation officers.
All members of the team are required to fill out an application form and attend a training and selection day before joining.
2016 Training and Selection days;
