HTB QUEENS GATE DAY SHELTEr
What is it? The HTB Shelter is an inviting, warm, and safe space where all are welcome to enjoy a hot meal, an all-day café, haircuts, clothing, a computer bank, an arts station, and a range of other community building activities. Guests can also access practical support services, which include GlassDoor caseworkers, CrossLight Debt Advisors, and CGL Addiction Specialists.
Our volunteers assist with the running of all of our activities, with an emphasis on engaging with our guests and fostering a strong sense of community.
Saturday Drop-In at HTB Queens Gate, by RESTART
The Saturday Drop-In is organised & hosted by RESTART, a charity for the homeless driven by a Christian faith that houses around 15 people a year. RESTART also looks to provide support in the areas of vocation and employment.
The vision for Saturday evenings is to have community time, where a meal can be shared, stories told and restoration achieved.
Volunteers are asked to help out from 4-8pm and will need a reference. Volunteers are involved in serving food and talking with guests who attend.
The Night Shelter is a safe place for rough sleepers in the city to come, share a meal, and find rest, with some staying the night. The Night Shelter is run through the coldest months of the year on Wednesday nights in partnership with Glass Door.
We need a team who come every Wednesday and take responsibility for key services, such as food, registration of guests, washing up. We love to build relationships with the guests and host them for a brilliant meal.
